"A place for every occasion"

I’ll let you in on a secret – every relationship needs a place.
What is it that draws us to the V&A time and time again? The sunlight, seagulls, sushi – is it the performers, the ice cream parlours, the shops, the hustle and bustle of the harbour? For us, the waterfront is more than just a place; it’s a special occasion every time: a chance to wear those new heels and that sexy LDB languishing in the cupboard – a glamorous evening guaranteed.
More than the views, the food and the myriad of shops, the atmosphere of the waterfront is what has anchored us here; the unique juxtaposition of craft markets, acrobats, designer boutiques, harbour cranes and five star restaurants. The diverse crowd always found in attendance lends the spectacular venue its distinctive flavour, that of refinement and sophistication blended with unassuming elegance and an all-welcoming attitude. A cosmopolitan celebration with an African pulse.
The waterfront is a reminder of our first date, a magical dinner at the sensuous Sevruga, which has become our favourite haunt for everything from light lunches to cocktails after a hard day’s work to dinning by the lights of the harbour on a warm, still summer’s eve. There is no problem we have found that couldn’t be solved with delicious cocktail and a plate of salmon roses to share!
Times like that evening, seated across from the potential girlfriend, can be nerve wracking, and this was definitely the time to impress. Fortunately, the setting delivered flawlessly, and with a little help from the sometimes recalcitrant Cape Town weather (and a little help from friends at Boschendal) the date was a success and we haven’t looked back since.
No meal is complete without dessert, and no dessert is more appropriate than a soft-serve from Love, Revenge & Cappuccino, shared on the wooden benches by the waterline with a beautiful girl.
It’s little wonder that we keep coming back, time and time again, to share in the experience and treat ourselves, because the waterfront is our place.
